In my last post, I shared that I was between clients. I had already reached out to my campus literacy instructional coach. We had discussed a classroom instructional design project that then began to turn into professional development for my campus. I had also reached out to a Dr. T who is a technology manager on her campus, she passed my email on to Ms. H the head of curriculum and instruction for their campus. After discussion she agreed to be the client to my instructional designer. Since we entered into a verbal agreement, I have sent two surveys to serve the purpose of analysis for the ADDIE model.

During the analysis phase of the ADDIE model, I researched and compiled survey questions used in educator performance assessments. One survey came from Formplus. Formplus is a website that generates and allows the creation of digital forms and surveys. The survey selected is a technology survey designed to evaluate technology use, behavior, and opinions (Formplus Blog, 2021). The survey is quite lengthy as it included student and parent survey questions, as well as, the survey questions for the educators. The questions selected from here will help analyze awareness of technology tools, their comfort levels with technology usage, and ways they would like to see more support with their technology use in the classroom (Formplus Blog, 2021).

The second survey I located and referenced came from QuestionPro. QuestionPro is a survey business that focuses on research, customer service, and engagement (QuestionPro, n.d.). The survey questions pulled from this survey focused more heavily on average integration of different classroom technologies (i.e. CPS, online assessments, and LCD projectors) (QuestionPro, n.d.). This allows me to view the usage of the technologies on Ms. H’s campus.

In addition to developing a survey for the educators that will participate in the training, the trainees, I also generated a survey for my client, Ms. H, using questions from the textbook as reference. The questions in the client survey came from chapter two of the textbook and focused on performance and training needs (Piskurich, 2015). This will allow me to not only see the educators’ thoughts and evaluate their needs, but also see what the expectation is for them from their curriculum and instruction manager.

While I cobbled together surveys to meet my needs this survey will yield sufficient information that will prove to be informative. Additionally, as there is a distance between myself and my client, the survey proves to be a quick and easy method of gathering the necessary data. The questions I incorporated utilize a Liktert scale and open ended responses (OER). These two types of questions will yield both uniform and non-uniform responses. Since I have chosen to utilize Google Forms, I have the option to create a Google Sheets from the survey responses. As the survey results come in I will be able to begin analyzing and generating ideas about the training I intend to implement.
